Why 'Bare'?

I'm Charli, I'm from the North of the UK, and my co-writer is a short haired grey and white cat, Loki.  My mission is simple, to lay it all bare.

But, why 'Bare'? Bare to me, has multiple connotations, like most things in life. To be bare, is in its simplest terms, is to be naked. To be exposed. There's vulnerability, empowerment and self acceptance in a persons naked form. Do you stand naked and proud? Or are you ashamed, and belittling towards yourself? I've been both of those people, and the lens that I look at myself through now, is a beautiful lens I hope to share with you, so you too can love, accept and care for your bare butt, too.

Bare minimum, it's a term that is thrown around in modern culture and self-help books, but what does YOUR bare minimum actually look like? Are you accepting bare minimum when you should be seeking so much more? Or are you giving your bare minimum to something that you should be investing your whole being into? Opening my mind to the law of attraction, mindfulness and spirituality has completely spun my life around. Learning what my boundaries are, how to implement them, how to respect myself again after a lifetime of people pleasing and trauma, are all things I will share with you through my own personal stories.

And of course, baring your soul. To bare your soul you have to find the strength in being vulnerable. To bare your soul, your life, your secrets, to leave yourself open like that, you have to be emotionally bare. Have you ever bared your soul to someone who had not earned the trust to deserve the sacred knowledge you are sharing? Perhaps they just don't have the emotional capacity to know what to do with the information you have shared with them? Maybe, you've also been on the receiving end of that too? I know I have.

Within these blogs I will bare it all. Stories, that will show you how you can overcome anything that stands in your way, including yourself. Expect tales ranging from my year living in a van, my personal queer struggles, identity issues, mental health challenges, to tarot reading, witchcraft, therapy. Expect some personal journal entries too. Overall, this is my journey back home to myself.
